Tools for Embracing the LGBTQ+ Community on Their Mental Health Journey
The LGBTQ+ community is impacted by mental health challenges and suicide risk at higher rates than their straight, cisgender peers. Research from The Trevor Project shows that 39% of LGBTQ+ young people seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year—including 46% of transgender and nonbinary young people. To support professionals in serving this community, Newport Healthcare is offering educational events and resources to bring awareness to the LGBTQ+ experience and treatment approaches to serve this population.
Register for our CE webinar and a panel discussion with Newport alumni, browse articles, and download toolkits and flyers to share with the clients, students, and families you work with—including a detailed guide for parents on supporting their LGBTQ+ child.
